Food Justice YEG

We acknowledge that the food work and initiatives showcased within this website have been hosted on/reside ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (amiskwacîwâskahikan), colonially known as Edmonton, which resides within the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples who have cared for these lands since time immemorial. We recognize the enduring presence, resistance, resilience, and strength of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, and we acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization, dispossession, and injustice.

We hold our hands up in respect and gratitude, and we commit ourselves—through this work and beyond—to continue to repair our relationship with the land and those who have protected and cared for it, while advancing food dignity, food justice, and food sovereignty for all.
