Stories of Food Justice

Explore a local digital storytelling project facilitated by the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights (JHC), created in collaboration with Campfire Kinship and filmmaker Damian Abraham of Indigital Media. This initiative aims to shift public and policy understanding of food insecurity from a charitable issue to one rooted in justice and seeing food as a human right.

Through the lived experiences of community members and local farmers, these stories amplify the vital importance of culturally appropriate and local foods, serving as rallying cries for long-term, rights-based solutions. Each participant's story highlights actionable ways that both individuals and communities can come together to advance true food dignity and food justice for everyone.

We are grateful for the support of the City of Edmonton through the Anti-Racism Grant initiative.
